Review on Steel Dragon Tools Annular Cutter Cutting Tools by Sean Maile

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Check cutting speed for HSS and cutter diameter. And use lots of coolant.

I appreciate the shipping box was double boxed with those fancy pillow cases in addition to the tool box it comes in. That was good. But I ordered a 2" hole cutter. This was my first experience with such a cutter. And wow, I'm impressed! I pulled it straight into 3/4" collets at Bridgeport. A pilot hole is not required. When cutting 5/8" steel flat bar, I ran it at 70 RPM, used lots of cutting fluid, and manually applied enough pressure on the quill to chip the steel at a constant rate. I backed away as soon as the steel bird's nest got too big, which didn't last long. Apply more liquid and return to it. When withdrawing the tool or reinserting it into the cutting process, I tried to do it quickly and smoothly to avoid sticking the cutting edge or insufficient feed pressure. 16 snails took about 30 minutes at the mill, and best of all, they're equivalent to nearly 2 inches of money, only a thousandth or two. And the incisors still feel almost as sharp as before launch. Again, this is the first time I've used a hole saw for something like this. I don't know if I'll ever use a hole saw for steel again. Even on smaller material, this thing is the bees' knees.
