I have spent three hours trying to replace blown lightbulbs on pre-lit wood. I was very excited to see the tree working well again. A filament of light worked for me, but after a minute it stopped working and I couldn't understand what went wrong. The other strand worked for two days before it broke. I found the brightness of the bulbs to be inconsistent. When I replaced a couple of burned out bulbs with a filament where the original bulbs still worked, I found that they were noticeably not as bright, but they looked bright enough on the other filaments. The base of these bulbs is shallower, so some of the threads in the wood were deeper bases, so part of the time I spent working on this project was pulling glass and wire from the base that attached it was delivered and to put them in the deeper base. They burned out after a few days. It may be due to the voltage difference from the base type, I'm not sure. All I know is that I ended up physically cutting out the built-in lightbulbs in wood with pleasure and a knife and replacing them with LED lightbulbs so I don't have to worry about them anymore.
