Review on StarTech Com Internal Multi Card Reader Support by David Sidman

I'm looking at the 3.5" bay version, USB3 mobo connector (blue connector/cable). (December 29, 2019) Installation was fairly easy (although the StarTech 5.25-3.5 bay adapter was unfortunate as its broadhead screws don't work in my case; this review is for this product but just as a warning a 3.5/5.25 adapter included for those who buy it). Since I feel friction when inserting the SD card, the click works, but I press it to eject, but the low spring force of the card's internal mechanism cannot overcome the friction of the bezel against the card in the slot. The microsd also grinds, so it's also a lot harder to get hold of than it should be. This unit is back - another try (will update this review once a replacement arrives. - Update - The replacement card reader had the same issue. As far as I can tell it's not the front/face but the SD card slot mechanism itself that doesn't move the card back and forth Something is wrong with the SD card slot component of the reader as it pulls all my SD cards from multiple manufacturers, all of which are big brand names.
