I used Grip Puppies on the grips and this unit did not fit. As a result, the handle broke and I took it off. Since then it works great with a leather case but doesn't work with thicker grips. Even when I put it on for the first time, I couldn't take it off for a while. Got a little crazy You have to press hard on the lock to make it pop out. Looks a little cheap overall, but can act as a visual deterrent.
