Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Inline Ethernet Voltage-Current Testing with GEN2 POE Tester by Aaron Franklin

PoE Texas Tester Gen 2 is AWESOME!

This PoE Texas Tester Gen 2 is a great tool! It does everything you need. And don't settle for less (or more expensive!). We urgently needed to determine performance metrics for a critical emergency communications deployment, including multiple AREDN MESH nodes that require <= 24 VDC (minimum 12 VDC) for a total power of 12 W (1/2 A). This system sits at the other end of a rugged 23ga AWG Cat6 outdoor cable and is powered via passive PoE for 100 feet, potentially many hundreds. probable failure! And the theory is good, but the rules of empirical testing! PoE Tester Gen 2 is a simple and effective solution! Just line it up in Source and Remore and compare! The three figures show three likely sources (A-24 VDC OEM regulated injector. C-2x 12 VDC batteries in series (DO NOT charge!). The two figures show test results for adjustable and battery cases measured at each end of a 100 foot cable For a total power requirement of 12 W at 1/2 A, the remote control received 24 VDC. And tested <25 VDC! Typical voltage drop is 1.1 V. ALSO make sure you have freshly charged batteries, because even after that the voltage can be 26-26- 27VDC! BUT under load and at the far end the output voltage is safe enough <24VDC. [Bonus! This Gen 2 will also allow for active PoE systems!] Summary: Just buy it! You can't with any other device I've for a very modest price, really got all the features and accurate performance. Good luck (and remember, tests beat theory!). The bats :)
