Revainrating 5 out of 5

2nd time was lovely

The first appliance I bought made an annoying frequent ticking noise during operation. The noise diminished very gradually over the course of 5 hours but was still noticeable. I ordered a second unit to try out to see if it makes noise as well. The second block is quiet, just the hum of the fan. Contacted the seller, he quickly replied and suggested that if the shelves are (were) straight, then marriage. I'm not sure if I should send it back through Revane or direct to them; We are waiting for more information. The new block is great. Lots of space, quiet, easy to use. I particularly like that I can regulate the temperature (in 5 degree increments) and the drying time in hours. So far I'm happy with the block change. UPDATE December 27, 2018 I'm so glad I bought this device! It seems to work great and I make all sorts of dog treats almost every day. I've cooked butternut squash (both raw and pre-cooked 5 minutes before drying), sweet potatoes (raw), chicken strips (raw), and canned green beans. The Labrador loves everything, but Golden Mix wants his squash steamed, even though the chicken is great. I freeze chicken until the day I use it (a few strips each day for Golden). Fourth, I peel the squash, scoop out the seeds and cut into 1/4 inch x 2 pieces. . Pour the entire batch into a large steamer and steam for 5 minutes. This seems to be enough to get a taste of what's being cooked (maybe it releases sugar?), then it's thoroughly dried. I also made an unsteamed batch that the lab likes a lot. It has already saved me the price of premium dog treat packets. A little more work than clicking Add to Cart, but the dollar savings will be significant over time. And my camping/backpacking husband might try it on the go too!
