Cheapest way to fix a stuck T104 timer seems to lock up and lock up after a few years

Buying this motor is by far the cheapest way to fix a stuck T104 timer. Compared to the 1X cost of this motor, the complete mechanism costs about 2.6X, the mechanism in the inner box is about 2.9X, and the mechanism in the outer box is about 4.2X. But take your pick, even a complete mechanism will likely cost about a third of what the average pool professional will charge for the replacement. Replacing just the motor takes just a few minutes than a complete replacement of the mechanism which itself takes just a few minutes. Motor screws require a T10 bit, preferably thin shank, or get creative with a small flat blade. I didn't have to drill a new hole to fit a new motor like some of the other reviewers did with their timers. A few words about detail and quality: I didn't buy a classic car, but I could tell by the date code. that my classic car stopped after about 14 years. I find that relatively low for a timed motor, but perhaps to be expected outdoors in a hot and humid location. it was electrically out of order. I think it's probably corrosion or possibly dried grease at the beginning of the gear train (where speed is higher and torque is much lower) locked the drive. When I have time, I'll do more testing, open it up, and update this review with something significant that I'm funding. Looking at the new and old (USA made) engines, the new one looks pretty much identical, with the same build quality. But what makes the new one look really cheap, inferior etc is that the top marks are rubberized, not very neat. Mine actually looks better than the picture in the listing but it still looks smudged and quite unkempt. When someone at Intermatic reads these reviews, that doesn't mean "quality" for a product that you've moved to a location with low labor costs. ! Or for any other product. And it should be very easy to fix.
