As a GPS skeptic, I only bought a Geko to indicate maintenance needs on trails. I also found it fun to play with. It's the most reliable way to test my canoes' speed, and navigating featureless water environments like bays and estuaries is no problem. While I'll likely continue to rely on a map and compass for camping and trips, I'm happy with the Geko's advanced features.
