This is a nice block that's a cool way to show off your good knives. This worked great for my larger knives, if anything the magnets were too aggressive for them. But for some reason this was very difficult with my 6" or smaller chef's knives. I have a set of VG10 Japanese kitchen knives and an alternate set of IKEA blades that I change depending on what I'm cooking or doing. Large chef's knives and santoku went well with both sets.when we got to the smaller knives in both sets they were either hanging loose and actually twisted, rattling into others or not holding at all in the case of the paring knife.not sure if the magnets aren't enough or not placed well enough to catch or something Nice holder and it was great for large blades but not great for displaying full sets.
