Simple upgrade for old recessed downlight

There are old lamps in my house. I have replaced or am in the process of replacing all but one; Recessed lamp above the kitchen sink. Instead of buying an adapter to make it into a junction box (and then buying a light fixture as well) or using one of the hangers that screw into the lamp socket, I went with one of these lamps. The hole in the glass is 4 inches, so this lamp almost completely fills that space. It also runs just under the bottom of the decorative ring giving it a finished look and not a dark hole with a lightbulb in it. Another plus is that it's 4000K, the only brightness I buy from LED lights because of their neutral light (not yellow like soft white or blue like daylight). Garage in front of the washer and dryer. I don't need that particular bulb anymore, but I'm very happy with how it ended up in the kitchen and how much light it will put out in my laundry room (compared to the current 60W warm white LED bulb).W).

Pros
  • 950 lumens - 11 W power consumption - 3000 K warm white. These energy-saving LED bulbs maintain the look of a classic incandescent bulb, but use less energy and last 25,000 hours.
Cons
  • Socket required
