breaks easily: Portable Audio & Video

I ignored my CD player and did nothing but normal use. One day he just stopped playing! The radio still works but the main reason I bought it is the ability to play lots of old kids music on a portable device. I don't think the laser reads it because instead of the song number it just shows two red dashes. She's not even a year old. I think for $30 I got a decent use out of it, but I expected it to last longer!
