Review on Upgraded LED Flashlight Bulb by Ruiandsion by Jenny Davis

I bought this LED to replace two old Ryobi 18V flashlights. I've had a few regular lightbulbs a year because they would fall off at random times or just burn out. The old flashlight can be seen in the attached photos. But the update works. . . Both required some modifications to the metal cone that held the lamp in place. The top of the LED bulb is 1/2" in diameter and the hole in the bracket is 7/16". I had to drill a hole with a step drill to insert an LED lamp. To Ruiandsion's credit, they gave exact measurements in the product description, so there was nothing surprising here. However, the standard bulb has a much smaller glass/element diameter than this replacement, so it probably won't work as advertised in many applications as plug and play. The base diameter is exactly the same. The light is about as bright as a regular incandescent bulb, but the pattern resembles a bit of a Batcave signal due to the placement of the LEDs in the bulb. There are 9 individual LEDs, 3 on the front and 6 on the sides, so this effect is to be expected. It's not a game changer, but a circular beam of light would be preferable. The extra lumens provided by the side LEDs would be more useful if they provided a better pattern. This may differ in your flashlight configuration. The Ryobi head is several inches wide so it spreads the beam more. Overall I'm happy with these LED bulbs and I think they deserve 5 stars based on the full description. Hopefully the last for many years.
