Review on πŸ’Ύ Yottamaster 2 Bay RAID External Hard Drive Enclosure: 32TB Storage, USB 3.0, RAID 0/1/JBOD, Clone, Backup by Damon Fuqua

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good block with minimal support

I'm starting to use it to house 5 discrete drives (no RAID or JBOD). I've been plagued by requests to consider this device a RAID host. It's outside my wheelhouse. Please ask someone else! The device is robust and easy to set up with a 4-pin micro switch. The instructions are sparse but well written. Overall I am very satisfied with this device. However, I have two problems with the product. It applies a kind of power-saving profile that turns off the device after a few hours of inactivity. This means that a job that requires access to disks on this device cannot be scheduled if it is scheduled outside of this tight window. I have yet to find a way to override this on Windows 10. This is advertised as a hot-swappable case. It comes with five drive bays, but the drives must be secured with four screws. To swap a hard drive, you need to use a screwdriver eight times. The most obvious and best solution would be to purchase additional drive trays. I wrote to the manufacturer a month ago and asked if this was possible. I never heard an answer. They are not offered on the website, but neither is the device I bought.
