This Dell HK595 PC subwoofer was $5 at the retail store but was missing the satellite speakers needed to operate. So I ripped out the subwoofer and left only the power supply (replacing the filter caps) and added a DC-DC buck converter ($5.69) to tame the power of this subwoofer. At first it buzzed until I grounded the DC side with my power amp chassis. At 18 volts it adds just the right amount of bass to a pair of Infinity RS4000 speakers I'm renovating. All together maybe 25โฌ. This one seemed to be well built. I don't understand how some customers got hold of what was clearly junk.
