This is the second circuit tester kit I have bought. I found the former very useful for tracking down pesky electrical problems, but I didn't usually have it on hand when I was out and visiting repair shops while I was at work. So I bought this ANCEl PB100 car chain test kit to take with me while the other one stays at home. The circuit tester kit includes all items included in the description including: * 1 PB100 circuit probe * 1 probe tip * 1 extension. Cable (20 ft) * 1 set of battery clips * 1 12V adapter * 1 case * 1 instruction manual The PB100 is powered by the battery voltage of the circuit under test, eliminating the need for internal batteries. To use, simply attach the alligator clips to the original battery or use the 12V adapter and the DC voltage is instantly displayed on the backlit color LCD screen. (To test the source voltage, simply touch the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery with the probe or move the toggle switch forward.) You can toggle between different functions of the tester by pressing the orange button on the tester.1) DC voltage ( 0.1 V Resolution)2) AC Voltage (shows maximum voltage, minimum voltage and frequency) 3) Resistance mode (ohms to read resistance between probe tip and auxiliary ground wire) 4) Diode mode (to test forward and reverse bias) There is also a toggle switch, which is used to apply a source voltage to the circuit (push-forward) or provide a direct ground (push-back). I would like to warn everyone to exercise extreme caution when using this feature as electronic components can easily be destroyed if used incorrectly. What I like about this tester is that the two LED work lights on the front turn on automatically when the sensor is connected to a 12V power supply. This tester also gives you an audible notification when testing circuits along with a visual notification. (Explanation below) * Red light / single beeps: Voltage near source is rejected or source voltage (switch) is applied. I really like this ANCEl PB100 Auto Circuit Tester Kit, this type of tester should be part of any mechanic or electronics master's arsenal. If I encounter any problems I will update this review.
