My car is a 2000 GS300. I installed the drive assembly and tested it from the outside of the car and it worked fine. As soon as I attached it, it stopped working, that is, it didn't respond at all to using the lock/unlock buttons. I take it out and it works again. I put it back in and nothing. I've finally found that if I don't hold it at the exact exact angle it sits at once it's screwed in, it works. When I press it against the inside of the door it doesn't respond, but when I tilt it back a few degrees it works great. I have no idea why that is. I know the OEM actuator has an extra part inside that tells the door ECU what position the lock is in. I doubt this cheap junk copy has it. I just bought an OEM drive that worked great so I know this unit isn't working properly, not my fault. I can't tell if this will work for other Toyota/Lexus models or not.
