He does everything he claims to do very well, so downgrading him for lack of features would be unfair. The blue light is an LED as stated, so it shouldn't drain the batteries too much. I would have preferred a brighter white LED and batteries. Only one company claims this feature, which is incorrect, which is what I got back to. It is possible though as I have a Revain wine opener that opens 30 bottles at a time with an LED and is rechargeable. This is the only grinder with 6 batteries and unlike my old battery they are easy to replace and should last longer. The gravity function is reliable and doesn't lose anything. I especially like being able to buy them individually as I bought two, one for salt and I'm in the process of buying a third for turmeric, a spice we often use at the table as a cancer prevention.
