I bought this pump to replace the Spectra pump I bought from Revain. The Spectra pump worked for 2 years and failed. If your engine has good compression and spark, the fuel pump should start it with a quick turn of the key (about 1/2 second). Spectra lasts longer than 1 second after 1 year. to start, in 1-1/2 years it will take two to seven seconds for it to start. The pressure dropped over time. Where I live they have 10% ethanol added to the fuel for at least 1/2 year which could affect the Spectra pump. The Delphi pump has stated that ethanol does not affect its performance and meets or exceeds OEM specifications. Installation wasn't difficult, but the wiring harness did require soldering. Save yourself the hassle, remove the drive shaft and empty all the fuel from the tank. (The 1998 Tahoe has a large gas tank that fits into tight spaces.) Place jack stands under the rear frame, not under the rear axle, so you can leave the rear axle unloaded to remove the gas tank. The pump should produce 50 to 70 psi. Now the truck starts up again in less than 1/2 second. Let's see how it goes.
