In my personal opinion, the Canon 60D with this lens weighs a little more than what is a comfortable travel weight for me. This question is individual and therefore it makes sense to check the weight of the kit before buying to get a feel for how comfortable it will be to wear it (on the neck or in a backpack). Sold a camera kit with a lens and a flash. Pros below: 1) The clarity and naturalism of the picture at a focal length of 24 to 55 are really great photos. 2) The stabilizer allowed me to take pictures on the Canon 60D with lighting lamps at aperture 2.8 without a flash, and not only I liked the picture. 3) Instant autofocus 4) Quiet focus motor and quiet stabilizer. Some cons: 1) At a focal length of 17 to ~20, distortion is noticeable, especially if this is a picture of a group of people (the faces are "stretched"). This range is probably only suitable for landscapes, if there are no high requirements. 2) In the first month, the camera began to show an electrical connector contact error. Moreover, the error occurred only when working with an external flash. As a result, the service replaced the diaphragm. True, at first they said that the reason was in the camera and admitted the opposite only when I convinced them to check everything together, that is, the camera, flash and lens. For the future - when buying, be sure to check the operation of the lens with an external flash, and take a dozen shots in a row so that the contacts heat up. 3) On vacation in the summer, it simply stopped guiding. Upon returning to Hong Kong, the diaphragm was replaced in the service (again!). 4) There is a rubber gasket on the lens rim. Somehow she leaned back and I saw that under it there was not even a plastic case, but immediately access to the electrical and mechanical "insides". It is very likely that a noticeable deviation of operating conditions from room conditions makes the issue of reliability look like a roulette wheel. Moisture, dust, etc. can easily get inside. If the lens is supposed to be used not only indoors and there is no desire to always wear a replacement for it, then it is very difficult to recommend it for purchase. Due to unreliability, after a while I changed the review and lowered the rating from 4 stars to 3 stars.
