Fitment tips for 1st generation Honda CR-V

They are the same as the Denso KJ16CR-L11 but generally cost less and have worked flawlessly for me. They're fairly easy to install using a 5/8" spark plug socket like this one which has a rubber insert to hold the spark plug in place along with a wrench and a 3/8" extension. bar (length about 6 inches perfect for my CR-V). NGK recommends dry installation (do not screw anything in) and for CR-V at least torque up to 13 ft-lbs or up to 2/3 turns past cylinder head contact. I start hand tightening until I can't take it anymore and then turn the wrench a little more so it feels tight but not too tight. Before opening, also clean the area around the rubber caps of the spark plugs to ensure that no foreign objects enter there. I use my workshop vacuum cleaner for this. they hold up well. I replace them every 30,000 miles as recommended by Honda and when I remove them they are still in good condition with normal deposits and about 0.05" gap. There are longer life spark plugs you can use, but I'd rather stick with them as they only take a few minutes to replace after you've done it a few times.
