So the original left pillar failed on my 2008 Lexus RX350. I searched the internet for replacement frames and decided to stop at these. The installation probably took 10 minutes. The only tools we used were a small flat head screwdriver to pry the clips out of the original jambs and a ladder to brace the hatch door. In general, they did an excellent job. The only reason this isn't a 5 star rating is that these replacement stands are a bit sturdier than the original stands. The originals are rated at 148 pounds and the replacements at 152 pounds. The hatch door now opens a little wider than before, and it takes a little more effort to physically close it. Maybe it will work itself out over time. All in all, I'm happy to be able to use my trunk like before. This is an easy DIY solution and certainly a lot better than going to an auto repair shop who can easily charge over $100 for it.
