Haven't fallen too hard but so far they're pretty decent and not too bulky. The only problem for me is that they don't fit properly. I may be the wrong size, but for reference, I'm 17.5ft 2, 110lbs and ordered a size M. I have a feeling that the knee and elbow pads might slip off if I fall and I can't make them tighter because it's not as secure as the velcro I thought it might be because I have a fairly small skeleton , but it should fit an 8 year old. The thumb is too big and it just fits weird. Maybe it's just me. Haven't had any problems yet, but I'm a little worried that if I fall, they'll slip off.
