Received this after my Uniden passed and reading the reviews. I need some time to get used to all the differences between my old car and this one. I didn't like it at first but it was just about teaching an old dog new tricks, now the more I get used to it the more I like it. Good: * The design is clean and concise, uses standard AAA size batteries. (cheap replacement). The readability of the display is excellent - bright, large, good contrast. The buttons are a good size (large) and easy to read.* The instruction manual is better than most and you can download the PDF online.* LOTS of programming options, almost too many. In addition to all the ones you might be looking forward to, here are some you might not be looking forward to. phone call; alarm clock (once/daily); Talking Caller ID; tube name; Call barring (up to 30#); and access to voicemail.* The sound quality is very good and is made even better by the two-stage tone equalizer. It's easy to switch between equalizers while on the call.* Excellent range. I was able to walk over 300 feet down the road before noticing any deterioration.* Long (18 minutes) recording time.* Good volume range and easy setup. The phone's speaker is clear and has good volume. The Bad* charging cradle is very light, making it easy to tilt and slide. * The headphone jack is not well placed. It interferes with your usage. * With so many programming options, it may take a lot of keystrokes to get what you want.
