CD ALARM CLOCK

Wow, super super rare - an alarm clock that lets you use a CD to wake you up! It gets five stars for that feature alone because no one sells that feature anymore, everyone seems to have their iPhone as an alarm clock or something. Well I hate the alarm on my phone. I sleep soundly and am not a lark; I need my Death Metal CD "BEHEMOTH" ringing in my ears so I can get up at 4am and go to work. Okay, one more piece of information for you: the numbers on the display are quite large and easy to read from across the room. Bright enough to see clearly in daylight but not enough to wake you up at night. It has a snooze feature that works no matter what source your alarm tone is using. It also has a sleep function to listen to music while you fall asleep, but it will NOT work with your CD, only AM/FM radio. Sleep and Repeat are the same button; When the alarm goes off, it will snooze, otherwise it will start playing in sleep mode. It has two alarms that you can set separately. You can also set the date and time zone. It can be programmed in repeat mode, I think it will either play one song or the entire disc, but I haven't used this feature myself. It has TWO USB ports - CHARGING ONLY - one for USB 1.0 mode and one for USB 2.1 mode. It also has a port on the back for Aux-In with a mini audio jack. Here you can plug in an MP3 player, your iPhone or iPod or whatever, and it will play as an alarm clock (or just listen to it like a radio). To set an alarm, there is a standard buzzer mode. Then it also has a music mode. If nothing else is connected, music mode will use the built-in AM/FM radio with the station previously tuned in. When you insert a CD, it overwrites all other input and is the first choice for machine playback. If there is no CD in the tray, you can use the AuxIn connection on the back to use another MP3 source instead of the AM/FM radio. A downside here is that the controls are difficult to understand. KEEP THE USER MANUAL SAVE - you MUST refer to it next time you want to change your alarm settings. On the other hand, it has been running for six months and has not caught fire yet.

Pros

Cons

Easy to operate and set alarms. Alarm sounds soft and then gets louder until you turn it off.
