Review on πŸ”§ 10-Feet Manual Hand Chain Block Hoist with 2 Hooks - 1 Ton Capacity (Yellow) by SPECSTAR by Jason Bellman

Poor quality/poor quality control

When I first used it, the lift chain kept buckling, resulting in very erratic, jerky movements. The problem worsened to the point where the elevator became unusable. Upon inspection I found that the spindle on the chain guide roller had fallen out of the mounting hole and the roller was now caught by the chain and housing. I disassembled the case to install the pulley. After removing it, I noticed that the pulley has sharp edges, which is not true. Since the chain seemed to be sticking to the pulley a lot, I used a sander to remove about 1/8" diameter material and round off the edges. After assembly, including tightening some nuts that were originally loose, the lift runs much smoother now it took me about two hours to modify it overall this tool looks very crudely built with barely passable metal it wouldn't surprise me if it has a very short lifespan.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Vulgarity
