A piece of junk, the best in material handling

The lift arrived with a black oil finish. The tracks were also very dirty from some kind of factory oil or solvent. Everything was also covered in coarse iron filings and/or swept factory floors. My hands were like soot after operating the elevator. The chains jammed almost immediately and never worked. Apparently it was a return that was sent back to an unsuspecting buyer - me. This lift is heavy and comes in a small box. When it arrived, every square corner and edge of the box was crumpled…

Simplicity and safety

This is my first experience with chain hoists. I bought it to lift a 300 lb generator off the ground onto an elevated platform. In the case of hurricanes, we can lose power and be flooded at the same time. Elevating the generator increases the likelihood that generator power will be available in the event of a flood. I found the lift easy to understand and easy to use. The hooks have spring loaded clips that prevent the hooks from loosening. The manual chain runs slowly, smoothly and…

2 Ton - Dirty: Manual Hoists

2 Ton Unit: There was huge dust on the chains of some black carp. The heavier chain in particular is designed for lifting; of course, to prevent rust on the slow boat from China. I opted for hot water, and a bath with Dawn detergent was required beforehand; followed by a light application of silicone spray. Better clean-looking but smooth hands than black as an ace of spades from some unknown dusty substance; remind me of graphite, although not smooth. Who knows if black comes out of work…

Poor quality/poor quality control

When I first used it, the lift chain kept buckling, resulting in very erratic, jerky movements. The problem worsened to the point where the elevator became unusable. Upon inspection I found that the spindle on the chain guide roller had fallen out of the mounting hole and the roller was now caught by the chain and housing. I disassembled the case to install the pulley. After removing it, I noticed that the pulley has sharp edges, which is not true. Since the chain seemed to be sticking to the…
