I don't like bad reviews but I think they help others and maybe help manufacturers to find improvements. So here it is... I bought this for my cat in June, expecting to move from a more containerized urban environment to an open ranch. My cat doesn't roam far but I wanted to be able to track her while we acclimate her to the new property so we know where she's going and can find her if needed. I only started using the tracker a week ago since we finally moved in and gave her some time inside to adjust. The cat tracker itself is a bit clunky. Our cat is considered large and feels heavy on her neck and you can tell that bothers her. But so far she hasn't taken it off (despite trying). As for the functionality of the signal, for what I need it for, I'd say it's good. Not quite, but okay. I once searched for her for an hour and a half in an area less than half an acre. The device said she was moving but I kept thinking she was sleeping somewhere because I didn't see her moving anywhere. It turned out that she really had returned to the house and had been sleeping the whole time. However, I was sure that she was on the spot and nearby. The application itself finds me and my phone on the map with fairly high accuracy. So I can only assume that it works for her too. Again, I just want to make sure she's there. The main issue and the reason I am writing this is related to the battery and charger. The charger is magnetic with two tiny connection points. It "snaps" onto the device and connects it. This worked fine for about a week; despite the fact that the cord is literally about 10 inches long and no outlet in my (new, fully renovated) house is low enough on the wall to allow the device to lie flat while charging. So it kind of hangs on the charger and sits on its end. I should note that all of my outlets are about 8 inches from the floor or pole. If the cord was literally a foot longer, it would be far more useful. But anyway, a week later I left it charging overnight and found it dead the next morning. Thinking I just didn't take the time to make sure it was plugged in, plugged the charger back in and waited for a little beep. Left it charging all day. I came back later and it still hasn't been charged. For the past three days I've been trying to charge it while my cat is walking around without it. I finally figured out that if I ONLY support it properly and put it in a position where the light stays on, it will charge. But God forbid if a light breeze rushes through the window and disrupts its unreliable connection. I plan on contacting support to see if I can get anywhere. Unfortunately, since I did not open the packaging and did not use the device before moving, it can no longer be returned. I hope tech support can help. I will update here for permission
