Easy replacement for Parallax/Magnetek

The original Magnetek 6336 power converter in my 2000 Tioga RV has failed. A little online research showed that replacing the Progressive Dynamics PD4635 was the solution. The device arrived quickly and my wife and I decided to approach the installation as a collaborative project - she was the reader of the manual and I was the user of the tool. The step-by-step instructions were clear enough - first remove the old block, then install the new block. The main task is to disconnect and reconnect the wires. This requires few wires for the converter block itself, but is more of a hassle for the many taps on the DC board. My only criticism of the Progressive Dynamics block is that the new branch terminals use a screw and plate type wire clamp instead of the easier to use set screw type on the original board. The fit of the new converter in the original shaft is perfect, and with the lid closed you don't even notice that there has been a change. Even with a more leisurely approach, the installation only took about an hour from start to finish. The device is working now. Big. Not only did it replace our broken converter, but it is better than the original.
