Very cute very casual very inexpensive rug

I needed a solution for my elderly corgi who was slipping and sliding across our hard tile floors. I couldn't find a nicer value for my purposes. Remember that she is 16 years old, there is a potty on a tray in the bedroom for her but she very rarely misses having her cute corgi butt covering the whole carpet. So as long as I have a good bedroom rug I don't want to use it and have to steam it once a month. I need something: A) washable B) inexpensive (it's VERY AVAILABLE - or was for me when I bought it) C) fairly soft to the touch and comfortable for my small dog (mine feels great underfoot. Thick and soft) D ) Not so ugly that it burns your eyes. (Mine is so cute!) I'd say he does those three things *really* well, plus he's nowhere near ugly, mine is really light and really cute! It's funny. However, there are a few downsides that I must point out and these may affect those of you who have different intentions with this rug or are looking for different qualities. 1) It's fibrous. You have to shake it, then cut, then shake it again, then cut and then rinse and repeat. Such is the nature of chindi rag rugs. I was expecting this, but it's worth noting. With a 52-string pickup, plan to remove the vacuum several times a week. It doesn't bother me because I often have to vacuum up dog hair anyway. 2) Yes, you need padding/no anti-slip tape if you don't put it on carpet. 3) It won't last forever. This is also the nature of these patchwork style rugs. You can wash it, but be **careful** and know it won't last forever. You can be comforted by the fact that this is a recycled/recycled product made from waste - at least it got a different life - and hey, it's VERY affordable, it's no investment rug. 4) It's thick enough to have problems next to the door. If you want it to go where the door needs to clear it, you need a really big door gap. I had to do some work and was glad I chose 3x5 instead of 4x6 for the small area I needed. 5) Your color palette may vary and stitching may leave something to be desired. I knew it could be noticeable. I rolled the dice and was very lucky.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Good but not great
