For the past twenty years, the lamp in the house has been in a place where it was inconvenient to turn on and off, so every time I left the house I would unplug and switch then on again. back when I got home. No longer! Now with the power supply there is a switch and a "click!" the lamp is off. Then I discovered a few other uses, like Christmas lights and other electrical devices that don't have an on/off switch. My iPod Touch battery has swollen and some believe it was from leaving it on the Bose speaker/charger for too long. Now the charger is connected to the power adapter and the iPod connector will not wear out when turning on and off. As others have noted, they feel well made, feel solid, and the switch feels sturdy. I also ordered one for the three prong connector. I am so happy with this product!
