Review on Polk Audio Wide Dispersion Satellite Speakers by Ruby Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

spectacular at this price

for a hundred dollars (when I bought it anyway) that's theft. even if there were more, I think they're great as they match the rest of my Polk system tonally (network monitor 50, center CS1, subwoofer PS12) and easily add enough volume and depth for my 10 x 18 living room, 14-foot cathedral ceiling. The bipolar design is perfect for surround speakers, especially given the limitations of my apartment. Based on where my seating area is, I really couldn't put them next to me, pinned to the wall a few feet above my ears. So I placed them on 48" speaker stands and placed them at the far corners of the room on each side, about 3" from any wall sticking out of the corner. That means one set of cones faces me while the other side sticks out sideways, bouncing off one of the walls and creating a bulkier, less directional approach (exactly what the environment is supposed to do). They are smaller than I expected and very solidly built. Satisfied as a punch.
