Sounds great: satellite speakers

Polk does it right! I have 4 RM8s installed in my living room as well as a 12" Polk subwoofer and a CS20 center. The sound is crisp and clear and sounds the same no matter where you are in the room, there are no dead spots. My room is not ideal for voluminous as it has a vaulted ceiling, a big exit to the kitchen and two corridors. I regret not having used them in a real media room, the sound would be really amazing. Filling the living room and kitchen with amazing sound, I hear sounds and…

Great surround sound

I bought 4 of these (front and back) for my basement media room. After installing one of them in the back corner, I felt the room was filled with music. Now with four of them, Center CS10, PSW110 and Denon 2311CI, I'm having a good time. I have the option to upgrade to 7.1, but for now I'm sticking with 5.1. The other day the wife complained that the music goes from the basement to the 2nd floor, I didn't find the music that loud :) By the way - I saw reviews from 2009 that it's very expensive.

  • Pleasant to use

spectacular at this price

for a hundred dollars (when I bought it anyway) that's theft. even if there were more, I think they're great as they match the rest of my Polk system tonally (network monitor 50, center CS1, subwoofer PS12) and easily add enough volume and depth for my 10 x 18 living room, 14-foot cathedral ceiling. The bipolar design is perfect for surround speakers, especially given the limitations of my apartment. Based on where my seating area is, I really couldn't put them next to me, pinned to the wall a…

Great little satellites

When I got these speakers I was so eager to try them out that I simply turned off the receiver and connected each of these speakers individually with a length of spare #16 cable- 2 to the connectors on the right front panel and turn the receiver back on. I was so impressed with the first that I called my wife to hear about the second being tested. she liked it. We ended up dancing on the floor while I held the speaker in one hand. The sound was crisp and clear. I've never had triangular…

The RM8 satellite speakers are cute and sound great

I bought these to start building my own RM95 kit. I've been looking for a RM95 kit for a while but couldn't afford to pay for all of them at once so this game gives me a chance to try them one by one with my rig before making a big investment. For reference, I am using this system with a consumer amp (Sony HT-DDW680), high quality cable and only 2.1ch surround sound when I received them. The system is installed in a small 10x12 playroom, so there are very important acoustic limits to the volume

Pros
  • Useful for more than what they are intended for
Cons
  • There are cons
