We have quite a few door stops that screw into the wall near the floor and a lot of them keep falling out because little hands are playing with them no matter what I do to secure them. As a result, they often lie on the floor and where the doorknobs meet the wall, holes form in the walls above (see example in the first photo). I got tired of fixing them and came across those sticky door bumpers. You look great on our walls painted with latex (see second photo) and look great with our white decorative strip! If you have a disadvantage, it is more likely that you will replace a layer of paint if you ever have to be removed. So if we ever decide to repaint a room with one like this, we need to carefully sand and touch up that stain on the wall first.
