Works well: Hubs and Controllers

My garage has a door from the house and a door from the outside (next to the two car doors) and there is only one light switch. I also have a habit of leaving the lights on. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy some of these motion sensors and replace the light switch with a Z-Wave switch. I have a multi node Hubitat Elevation system at home and now it works VERY well in my main garage. I installed two of these sensors in my garage, one on the ceiling about 5 feet from where the front doors are. Now I can enter the garage and the light comes on immediately and stays on for 5 minutes if no new motion is detected. It worked so well I bought a few more for my detached garage. My detached garage was converted into an office space with textured/painted walls and ceiling; this is where i had the only problem with these motion sensors. Adhesive does not stick well to textured/painted ceilings. I have two computer workstations in my detached garage, one for me and one for my wife. I hung them on the ceiling next to each workstation because I didn't want them turning off there because they couldn't see us at our tables. While I think about it, I will most likely replace the sticky pad that came with the kit with velcro straps. If I were to design this product myself, I would make a holder that can be attached to a surface with glue or screws. then the motion sensor snaps into the bracket. I'm not sure yet how long the batteries in this motion sensor will last. So far I installed my first two about 30 days ago and they are still reporting 100% battery.
