These lamps are much brighter than a standard fridge night lamp and also hang slightly lower. The lights I ordered were cold (white, not incandescent). They look good and have no problems. Every bulb I received works. I can't say anything about shelf life as it's only been in the fridge for a week. The only reason I took the star off is because they are a little taller so they hang a little lower. This means when you sit in your chair or glance at the fridge, you are directly in front of a bright LED. With a normal night light or closed light, this would not be a problem. In general I like them.
