Difficult kit or questionable design
I needed a multimeter and also wanted a fun kit project so I went with this one. The board is a bit cluttered and requires vertical mounting of resistors and diodes. Some instructions can be tweaked: for example, the transistor test socket isn't told to occur until you've filled it with resistors. It would be easier to put it first. My kit had a defective part, but it may also have had a PCB typo (slight misalignment). There is no room for error on this board. I would only recommend this kit to those who already have a working multimeter, but it kinda defeats the purpose of building a multimeter.
