Before you buy this kit, please note that the end product is not a very good gauge. It has very weak input protection and lacks some useful features. To emphasize the lack of input protection, it doesn't have a 10A range fuse, and there's pretty much nothing to prevent a spectacular event if some asshole applies more voltage than is allowed. I needed a multimeter and also wanted a fun kit project so I went with this one. The board is a bit cluttered and requires vertical mounting of resistors and diodes. Some instructions can be tweaked: for example, the transistor test socket isn't told to occur until you've filled it with resistors. It would be easier to put it first. My kit had a defective part, but it may also have had a PCB typo (slight misalignment). There is no room for error on this board. I would only recommend this kit to
