Review on RCA CVBS AV to HDMI Converter - Mini Composite for VCR DVD | 720P 1080P Support by Star Bell

Let me start by saying that this product works as described. You plug in the power cord, plug in the composite RCA cable from your device, plug one end of the HDMI cable into the converter and the other end into your TV/receiver and WOW! The scale of the picture on your TV screen. This product works great with your old DVD player or VCR. There is only one caveat; it outputs a 720p/1080p 16:9 image. You can choose between 720p or 1080p, but it always outputs 16:9. So if you want to connect an old game console (NES, SNES, Genesis, PSOne, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, etc.), the original 4:3 image will be stretched to 16:9. Most DVDs will do, as they are natively widescreen. However, I bought it mainly to connect my old consoles to the HDTV in my office and it makes games almost unplayable as the picture is stretched. I gave this four stars because the device works, it works as advertised and it does. quite easy. I just wish there was a little more clarity on how it handles the signal. It was only $20 so I'm not too upset about it. Just thought I'd leave a review so maybe someone else looking for this device for the same reasons as me will notice this flaw.
