This cable is what you need to install if you're going to bury it and run it outdoors.* The outer shield The cable's durability is excellent for heavy use and definitely protects the inner copper wires from the elements.* After cutting the outer shield, you'll see a foil shield that helps prevent crosstalk and EMI* Good, heavy, solid 23AWG copper conductors. As far as I could see they are not covered with aluminum. * I ran this cable outside at the radio tower and then in a pipe buried a foot below. That's a full run of nearly 225 feet with no issues. It just took a lot of handwork to make it this far. But after pulling it out and installing it, I had no problems. ***NOTE*** This cable is overall much thicker and heavier than your regular Cat6 cable and offers a different kind of performance. It took me a while to figure out the best way to connect this cable to the jack. Just experiment and try different types of shielded ends.
