Media could not be loaded. Vernier calipers have been used for centuries and have proven to be one of the most efficient and accurate measuring tools. Vernier calipers have proven to be the most versatile solution for measuring the OD, ID, and depth of various objects, although there are several types of calipers for different purposes. Historically, calipers were only available in analogue versions and measurements were displayed on a circular dial, but advances in technology have led to the latest innovation in caliper design: the digital caliper. Digital calipers offer a number of advantages over analog calipers, including the ability to take extremely accurate measurements. This digital caliper consists of several components that define its overall function and design. It includes internal/external jaws for measuring inside and outside diameters, a depth gauge, an LCD that displays the measurements on a digital screen, a main scale, and a dial that moves the jaws up and down the scale. Each of these components has properties that affect their function. This 6 inch digital caliper is made of polished stainless steel for durability and ease of use. Equipped with a very large LCD display, they can clearly display measurements with an accuracy of 0.001 inches. With the push of a button, they instantly convert these measurements between standard and metric. Unfortunately, this pair of calipers does not come with a calibration certificate, but each model is factory calibrated prior to shipment. They also don't have an IP54 rating, although the seller does offer a one-year warranty and a tough storage case to protect them.
