I bought a double set of AA Products KX325 J-Bar Racks for two (2) 10 foot kayaks. I also ordered an APX25 ladder post from AA (universal, no drilling) to mount these J-Rods. I decided to mount my rack on my utility trailer and put J-Rods on top. Unfortunately, when I assembled my stand and tried to attack the J-Bars, the bracket didn't fit the APX25's wide crossbars. I just assumed that if I ordered two products from the same company at the same time, they would be compatible. I also haven't seen any compatibility charts or warnings that they aren't compatible. Needless to say I wasn't happy. However, I quickly called AA Products customer service and they actually took the call! How many times have you called customer service at the company that makes the product you bought from Revain only to find out they don't really care about after-sales service? Not with AA products. I explained my problem and they quickly realized I needed a larger mount and shipped it out the same day at no extra charge. If I had called before ordering they would have done it at that point and I would have had no problems at all. They also let me know that Revain has an item where they combine the ladder post and J-bars together and that has the correct brackets. *** I have to say that the customer service response to my issue made this experience a 5 star *** J-Rods are made up of several parts and it seems like a daunting task to put them together but the Instructions are easy to follow and all components are easy to assemble. I had no trouble assembling them. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble 4 joysticks while watching TV. The padding around the handlebars is made of soft foam and feels durable. The bars are steel (not aluminum if that's what you're looking for) and powder coated black. I am very happy with the look, strength and durability of these frames for the price. If you need a set of J-Bars I would try these. Last but not least, the customer support alone would be worth it.
