This is a real change when it comes to puppy training. I tried several devices when training a German Shepherd puppy and it finally worked. I have a very obedient, wonderful 6 month old German Shepherd. I took my very excited puppy to a training club that was training about 20 other German Shepherds in different classes at the same time. I quickly realized that my pup wanted to jump up and bark at every pup he saw and play rough house, call it what you will, and would only follow my commands when there was no competitive stimulation. It was so hard to keep her. My hands were aching so much from trying to hold on to the leash and not lose it. The pulling, pushing, and barking created a terrible commotion in the classroom as the other puppies became excited and followed suit. As a result we were not allowed in the class as it was unfair to other obedient, trainable puppies and their owners. After weeks of trying to develop socialization skills to get my pup to behave well enough to be in the classroom, we still had a long way to go.
