When I started cooking more for myself to eat healthier, I needed a way to chop cabbage and supermarket knives were no good for that. They were too short and couldn't get sharp enough to make the task any easier. The Zyliss is the perfect knife for those who want to start cooking for themselves but aren't a pro and aren't willing to invest in one of those kitchen knives that cost $100 or more. If you're just cooking for one or two people, you still don't need anything that can cut through a tin can in 2 seconds. That's too much knife for too little work. So for the price, the Zyliss is probably the best option you can get for something close to a serious chef's knife. It cuts through my cabbage quickly and keeps a very sharp edge. I need to sharpen it about once a week so be sure to get a good sharpener.
