Bought these for my 12 year old son. About 5 feet about 105 pounds. After measurements, we decided on a large one. They fit perfectly! A little big on the waist but ok because there is a belt. The ankles go over his hunting/winter boots but not his snowboard boots. The fact that they are collected on the shaft of his boarding boots doesn't bother him.
