Review on ⚡ GFCB115CS Interrupter Circuit Breaker by Corporation by Tim Larsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Currently works great for GFCI

GFCI breakers can be unreliable and trip because of this. The more they stumble, the more they stumble. After fixing the issues with the old unit, we couldn't find any reason why it kept shutting down and ordered it as an exact replacement. Shutdown problems are gone. We could replace it with a regular switch, like replacing a commonly blown fuse with a penny, but I suspect the GFCI switch was installed for some reason, so we got the right switch. how problematic these things can be, I can understand people's frustration when they stumble for no good reason. It's a great concept, but the implementation causes almost as many problems as it should prevent. People WILL avoid them if they cause enough trouble. A regular breaker is half the cost of one and will prevent false trips but will not warn you of an unsafe condition. For some people, this is an acceptable solution to constant annoyance — too many false alarms and it goes off, like a smoke alarm that goes off whenever you use the stove, or a car alarm that goes off when you breathe on it. When designing "safe" products, human dissatisfaction with constant false alarms and the tendency to bypass or remove these devices when they cause problems must be taken into account. False positives must be PROHIBITED in devices designed to protect us, otherwise they make little sense.

Pros
  • breakers, load centers and fuses
Cons
  • long term supply
