GFCI breakers can be unreliable and trip because of this. The more they stumble, the more they stumble. After fixing the issues with the old unit, we couldn't find any reason why it kept shutting down and ordered it as an exact replacement. Shutdown problems are gone. We could replace it with a regular switch, like replacing a commonly blown fuse with a penny, but I suspect the GFCI switch was installed for some reason, so we got the right switch. how problematic these things can be, I can…
