Works well as long as you clamp the knife this way.
Another reviewer correctly noted that if you grip the blade and check the angle you get a different angle when turning. I found that in myself; I got 10 degrees and then turned it over and it showed 15 degrees! It will destroy the edge if sharpened this way. I've found that if you insert the knife ONLY 2/3 into the clamp and then tighten, you get the same angle reading before and after flipping. The knife is held very tightly so you don't have to worry about it slipping off. Once you have verified it, the system works very well.
