works very well holds the handlebars securely on my mountain bike. I want the PHONE holder itself that attaches to this item to hold as well. I've found it takes a lot of effort to get the bolt-on part to really hold the ball on the Arkona. After this came loose and the phone flew away a couple of times, I resorted to Velcro that wraps completely around the top and bottom of the phone, and then around the entire bolt-on part that grips the ball on the Arkon mount. This way the velcro keeps pressure on the entire top mount AND on the plastic nut that tightens the ball even if the phone holder moves away from the ball. This prevents a complete fall off and generally holds the nut tighter from the start. It has worked fine on my road bike so far, maybe a few years and now I got another one and use it on my mountain bike as well. It fits snugly on some of the larger stems so I had to mount it on my mountain bike handlebars but it works fine for me. Of course, it's better to take my phone out of my pocket every time I need to answer a call, restart Strava, or change what I'm listening to in my headphones while driving.
