Review on Motorcraft YH 1744 Blend Door Actuator by Sam Thorpe

It was exactly what I needed, great price for an auto part and delivery on time. Once you pull the panel around the radio and air conditioning, pull up the center console and remove the panel under the steering wheel, you have access to the switch. Just make sure the heater door is fully open or fully closed. You must have the new actuator in the correct position to ensure correct switch alignment. Mine was already fully closed so I temporarily plugged in the temperature control switch, plugged in the new actuator (not installed yet) and set up the ignition. The actuator moved to the fully closed position and I was able to install it correctly. A 12" Flex Drive Extension 1/4" and an 8mm socket will fit on one mounting bolt, and an 8mm flex head ratchet wrench will fit on two other mounting bolts. A few drops of hot glue on the 8mm head will make installation easier. The other two screws will be covered with hot glue or tape while you align the drive.
