The O2 sensor was still connected so I fixed the plug around the O2 sensor gasket and tried to introduce material into the gap. I then leave it on for the full 24 hours before the trip to fully cure. The truck has 2 catalytic converters and the original owner replaced the passenger over 50,000 miles ago so I know the other one is nearing the end of its life. But air intrusion into sensor 02 due to a rusty fitting made the problem worse. So far so good, I've been driving it for 3 days, the check engine light didn't come on and the exhaust putty is still there.
